Potomac, Md. is northwest of Bethesda in southwest Montgomery County. It is among the most educated cities in the country and highest earning.

 

The town is known for its spectacular estates and luxury living; however there homes available in all price ranges.

Potomac sits on the banks of the river for which it was named. Each year around mid-October, local businesses and residents enjoy Potomac Day, a time to celebrate the community and its history. The event is usually held in Potomac Village and includes a parade, crafts show, food and free giveaways.

 

Other facilities to enjoy include: Potomac Community Center, the C & O Canal National Historic Park, Maryland-National Capital Park, Avenal Park, Adventure Conservation Area Park and Bucks Branch Park.

 

Potomac was rated the seventh top-educated town by Forbes magazine in its January 2009 issue. The annual index polled more than 2,500 regions with populations of 20,000 to 65,000 about their education.

 

CNNmoney.com rated Potomac among the country’s 25 Top-earning Towns, reporting a median family income of more than $180,000.
