Bethesda Schools

Public high schools in Bethesda are among the best in the country, according to a 2008 issue of Newsweek magazine. Bethesda-Chevy Chase, Walt Whitman and Walter Johnson high schools all landed in the Top 100 in the Top of the Class 2008 index that rated 1,300 U.S. public high schools.

First daughters Sasha and Malia Obama (pictured with their father, President Barack Obama) attend Sidwell Friends School, a private school in Bethesda. Teddy Roosevelt, Richard Nixon, Al Gore and Bill Clinton all sent their children to Sidwell Friends School.
