Chevy Chase real estate sits atop a number of elite department stores like Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales as well as designer boutiques like Jimmy Choo, Gucci and Tiffany.
A number of villages in the surrounding area of Montgomery County include “Chevy Chase” in their names, including a neighborhood known as Chevy Chase, D.C. in northwest Washington, which borders Maryland to the south at Western Avenue.
Each of these villages and the town share a common history that dates back to the 1890s when two men purchased thousands of acres of land north of Washington, D.C. with hopes of developing a residential streetcar suburb.
Primarily a residential suburb, Chevy Chase is also home of the National Science Bowl, held in early April or late May each year at the National 4-H Center.
