The population in Potomac is just around 46,000, according to CNNmoney.com. From 1980 to 2000, the population increased 10 percent.  The community is roughly 79 percent white, 13 percent Asian and 5 percent Latino, according to the 2000 U.S. Census.

 

The median age is 44 years. For every 100 females, there are 92 males. Roughly 75 percent are married couples and the average family size is 3.10, according to census records.
